The Henna Guys®: 100% Natural Henna for Hair
Our henna hair dyes contain no chemicals or metallic salts, just pure, plant-based ingredients. We offer 13 different henna colors that can be mixed to create over 70 unique shades, from light to dark tones.
Most of our customers switch to henna because they’ve had allergic reactions to chemical hair dyes or want a safer, more natural option. While henna takes a bit more time to apply, many agree it's worth it compared to the damage caused by traditional hair dyes.
How We Source & Process Our Henna
We source our ingredients from ethical farms that grow crops without pesticides or harsh chemicals. Once harvested, the henna is stored in a temperature-controlled environment to maintain freshness. It's then processed in an ISO 9001-certified facility, ensuring cleanliness and quality. Finally, we pack it in airtight aluminum bags to preserve its potency and color-staining power.

Henna Color Guide
✔ For Lighter Hair (Blonde, Light Brown, Grey)
Henna works best if you want to darken your hair. You can achieve shades like red, deep red, wine red, medium brown, dark brown, or jet black.
✔ For Darker Hair (Black, Dark Brown)
Henna won’t lighten dark hair since it doesn’t contain chemical color developers. However, adding lemon juice to the mix may slightly brighten the results over time.
✔ For Deeper & Darker Shades
If you want a richer brown or black color, mix henna with freshly brewed black tea or coffee for better results.

How to Apply ( Henna / Hair Treatment / Hair conditioners)
Now that you have received your order and all set to apply Henna / Hair treatment or conditioners on your Hair, Here are some of the steps you need to carefully follow to get most out of your natural hair dyeing/treatment experience which can be very therapeutic you know!
STEP 1: Make Sure to Wash your Hair

For best results, wash your hair thoroughly to remove any oil or product buildup. Henna binds best to clean, oil-free hair, ensuring deeper color penetration and longer-lasting results. If your hair is oily or dirty, the henna may not adhere properly, causing the color to fade within a week.
STEP 2: Henna Quantity and Mixing Process

How Much Henna Do You Need?
The amount of henna powder depends on your hair length and texture:
-
Short Hair / Half Beard: ⅓ pack (4.5 tbsp)
-
Shoulder-Length Hair / Full Beard: ⅔ pack (8 tbsp)
-
Mid-Back Length: 1 full pack (100g)
-
Hip-Length Hair: 1½ packs (150g)
-
Mustache: ¼ pack (3 tbsp)
For curly or thick hair, you may need more henna for full coverage, e.g., 150 – 200g for shoulder-length curls. Check the pack for exact recommendations.
How to Mix Henna
-
In a non-metallic bowl, add the required amount of henna powder.
-
Gradually pour in warm water, stirring continuously until the mixture reaches a smooth, cake-batter consistency.
-
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for the dye to release:
-
Medium Brown / Light Brown / Auburn: 45 minutes
-
All Other Shades: 8–10 hours
This waiting time helps develop the color for better, longer-lasting results.
STEP 3: WEAR OLD /Unwanted SHIRT:
Before the application of the henna to the hair don't forget to wear an old shirt. The henna that may be accidentally applied to clothes can stain them permanently. Also, take care of the surrounding shelves, curtains, and carpets.
STEP 4: BRUSH YOUR HAIR AND MAKE THE PARTITIONS:

Before applying henna, brush your hair thoroughly to remove any tangles for a smooth application. Divide your hair into four sections to make the process easier and ensure even coverage.
Secure three sections with hair clips or ties, leaving one section loose to start with. Begin applying henna to the loose section first, preferably along the hairline, as this area is the most visible and needs even coloring.
Working in sections helps with the mess, allows for better control, and ensures that every strand gets properly coated for consistent results.
STEP 5: APPLY VASELINE AND WEAR GLOVES:
Before applying henna, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or Vaseline along your hairline to prevent staining on your skin. Henna can leave strong stains, especially on the forehead, ears, and neck, so this barrier helps make cleanup easier. Additionally, wear gloves to protect your hands from getting stained, as henna can be difficult to remove from the skin.
STEP 6: APPLY THE HENNA MIXTURE ON HAIR:

Once the henna mixture is ready, give it one final stir. Using a coloring brush, begin applying the henna to the untied section of your hair. Divide the section into smaller parts for even coverage, starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots.

Make sure each new section overlaps slightly with the previous one for consistent color. With practice, this step should take around 20 to 25 minutes.
STEP 7: WRAP YOUR HAIR:

After the thorough application, wrap your hair with the saran wrap. This helps in the better development of the color. Wear a shower cap over it if you want, otherwise, it is not necessary.
STEP 8: SET THE STOP-WATCH:
Set a timer for 2-3 hours for henna and 1-2 hours for hair treatments or conditioners. While the henna works its magic, take the time to relax and unwind, this is a great opportunity to focus on something else. It might seem like a long wait, but trust us, it's a therapeutic experience and one of the best ways to de-stress and feel calm.
STEP 9: WASH YOUR HAIR:
When the alarm goes off, it's the time to hit the shower. Use the normal water to rinse your hair. Put your hair under shower to wash the henna away from the hair.
Do not use the shampoo but you can use conditioner to help you out while rinsing. The henna color will continue to darken for 2 to 3 days. Use shampoo after 48 hours of rinsing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How to do henna for beginners?
Start by choosing plant-based henna powder and mixing it with coffee or water to form a smooth paste. Let the mixture sit for several hours to release the dye. Cleanse your hair and section it off. Apply the henna paste evenly, working from roots to ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave the henna on for an appointed time. Rinse out thoroughly with water and conditioner.
Is henna best applied on wet or dry hair?
Henna is typically best applied on clean, dry hair. Wet hair may not absorb the henna paste as effectively, leading to uneven color distribution. Make sure your hair is completely dry before applying henna for the best results.
Should I apply oil before henna?
It's not recommended to apply oil to your hair before henna application. Oil can create a barrier that restricts the henna from properly adhering to your hair strands, resulting in uneven color. It's best to apply henna to clean, oil-free hair for optimal color penetration and coverage.
How long should you leave henna on hair?
For best results, leave henna on your hair for 2 to 3 hours. If you're using it for a conditioning treatment, you can leave it for 1 to 2 hours. The longer you leave it, the richer the color, but make sure not to exceed 4 hours.
Can we add oil in henna for hair?
Yes, you can add a bit of oil (like coconut or olive oil) to your henna mixture to make it more moisturizing and nourishing for your hair. It can help prevent dryness and improve the texture of the paste.
Can I use shampoo after henna?
It's best to avoid shampooing your hair immediately after rinsing out henna. Wait at least 24 hours before using shampoo to allow the color to fully set. When you do shampoo, use a mild, sulfate-free shampoo to preserve the color and prevent fading.
